Seldom in music history does an artist come along that has the ability to severely shatter the foundation what of we know as innovative, cutting edge music and deliver the sound of the future in such a remarkable way. TIMO MAAS accomplished this and more at the opening of SANTOS PARTY HOUSE this past Saturday night in New York City.

It’s not often that I will say that a party is amazing or ground breaking however in this case there is reason to call special attention. I had no idea what to expect as I’ve never been to SANTOS PARTY HOUSE before and the club is one of New York’s newer venue.

Approaching the club on the street the first thing I saw was a sight I had not seen in New York for many years. As I turned the corner of Lafayette Street my eyes where meet by a crowd of 300 people waiting on line to get in. Initially this got me very excited because I know its TIMO MAAS’s first New York City appearance in 3 years. Fortunately enough, I was recognized by one of the door staff and ushered inside with the quickness that would make any partygoer feel they had achieved VIP status.

Once I steped inside the room I was hit in the chest with 150,000 watts of analog audio insanity and a certain type of sub base frequency I can only remember feeling at TWILO. As we accompany TIMO MAAS to the stage the energy of the room was nothing short of magical. TIMO MAAS is no stranger to the capability of delivering groundbreaking sounds. Remember when he turned the electronic music scene upside down with his remix of “AZZIDO DA BASS” and when his “PICTURES” album pushed the envelope of what you can do with electronic sound?

As he opened up his set the sounds that began emulating from the sound system where not only new to me but also to everyone in the room. As his set was comprised solely of his own new productions that no one had ever heard before. One record after another the message was clear to all, TIMO MAAS is BACK!!!!

Monday night HIRO NISHIDA hosted a special HOUSE MUSIC TV dinner at his downtown MEGU restaurant honoring the sushi loving TIMO MAAS. As the party was greeted at the table with a champagne toast, the manager when introduced to TIMO jokingly addressed him as TIMO MAAS unaware that in fact it was the real TIMO MAAS.

The same manager then recalled Monday nights at LE SOUK where the resident DJ often played underground TIMO MAAS records, as being his most memorable nightlife experience, also unaware of the fact that the DJ playing those records at LE SOUK many years ago was actually LEE KALT who was also sitting at the table. After the dinner, TIMO MAAS stopped by KATRA for HOUSE MUSIC TV’s weekly Monday night party “DON’T FEED THE MODELS,” making it official that KATRA is New York City’s Monday night party.

Los Angeles is a city that is seldom high on the list of premier party destinations because of the city’s 2am curfew on nightlife, however through loopholes in the system there is reason for us to bring Hollywood as an electronic music destination to your attention. Clubs like PLAYHOUSE and AVALON can stay open until 4am and even noon the next day, like SPACE in Miami.

Last Thursday we flew to LA to host a party honoring ERICK MORILLO at the MONDRIAN hotel located on the Sunset strip. HOUSE MUSIC TV kicked off the weekend with an exclusive party at SBE’s hottest venue HYDE that is right next to the CHÂTEAU MARMONT. Party goers where uplifted when LEE KALT kicked off his set with “KISS & FLY” which was just featured on ERICK MORILLO’s SUBLIMINAL SESSION “BE BAD” By midnight parades of scantily clad cocktail waitresses were emerging from the back of the club with what seemed like whole cases of champagne adorned with sparkers marched through the club nearly every five minuets.

The energy in the room was sent over the edge at 12:30 am when TIESTO showed up and commented that he was hearing the best set of music he had ever heard in a Los Angeles nightclub. Other notables in the room that night, recording artist SIR IVAN, SASHA, and Hollywood’s sexiest up and coming nightlife duo SUMMER & DINA riled the crowd into a frenzy with their provocative DJ booth antics and behavior.

Saturday night HOUSE MUSIC TV hosted GLITTER & GLOW a private party of 300 of Hollywood’s hottest sexy couples devoted to ERICK MORILLO all decked out in costumes emulating the theme GLITTER & GLOW. DJ ISAIAH MARTIN marinated guest on a massive sound system in the presidential suite on the penthouse floor of the MONDRIAN hotel.

At midnight, the group descended into the lobby and boarded luxury couch busses that were waiting in front of the hotel and made the trip down the Sunset strip to AVALON nightclub in Hollywood where ERICK MORILLO took to the stage at 1am. Surrounded on the stage by the entire GLITTER & GLOW party and began playing to a packed house of thousands.

The highlight of the night was when ERICK MORILLO dropped a bootleg of “KIDSOS VS. SHOW ME LOVE” and the KRYOMAN from IBIZA (google him) magically appeared in the center of the dance floor, lighting up the room with his android suit covered in LED lights, wielding high power multi colored laser guns in each hand, each equipped with co2 guns as well.

Two new productions join the LK RECORDINGS catalog this month and both new releases are available on Beatport and iTunes, and more on the way!
The first is “PAINT” featuring Athana-Sia on vocals, it is an uplifting high-energy track with sexy vocals. The second is “CHERRY SODA” a new production by LEE KALT & DJ NUNZI's whom LEE has been doing some recent studio sessions with. “CHERRY SODA” is DJ NUNZI debut on LK RECORDINGS and is a good sign of new projects to come in the future. Such as “PAPER DOLL”, featuring New York City based fashion designer, HILARY FLOWERS, whose exclusive New York boutique is located at 40 Clinton Street. “PAPER DOLL” is a hot record with sexy lyrics about walking the runway and taking off your clothes. “WHORES MOUTH RIDING” the instrumental record by LEE KALT and ARTHUR EXPLICIT in Arthur’s Las Vegas studio and “ARTIFICIAL GENERATION “ by legendary dance music producer, JAY DEE, who delivers a long awaited follow up to “PLASTIC DREAMS” which is exclusively available on LK RECORDINGS.
